How The “Can Do Spirit” Helped Anthony Joshua To Win The Bout. A Lesson To Learn

History was created just last week in Wembley, far away of UK. The Local and International media were agog with the news of Anthony Joshua, a -27 year -old Nigerian Boxer, who won a heavyweight boxing championship convincingly against a renowned Ukrainian boxing icon, Wladimir Klitschko.

 

Before the sensational fight, many boxing enthusiasts believed and stuck out their necks for Klitschko, taking into cognizance his pedigree, maturity, and experience in the field of boxing. Many pundits thought that it would be a simple walk out for Klitschko, who have a knack for given his opponents a knock out within a shortage possible time.

Surprisingly, on the fateful day, the table turned against this former heavyweight boxing title Holder. Anthony a determined young and courageous Boxer took on Klitschko tenaciously and at the eleventh round, he carried the day. One may ask what gave him the aura of confidence to beat his rivalry.

       

During the per-match interview granted by the both Boxers, Anthony Joshua acknowledged the fact that Klitschko  is a good Boxer, but then he believed he can trade punches with his opponent. In his interview, Klitschko wondered how a 27 year old boy can fight and win a match against him; somebody that have more than 27 years’ boxing experience. To him, it will be herculean task for Anthony to achieve easily.

It is worthy to note that something obviously stood out during that interview session. Anthony being a young Boxer didn’t boast or brag about the fight with somebody that is more experienced than he is. He just believed in himself and he had the determination to go for the fight without any form of docility. However, I must admit that I admired his sense of humility and a show of professionalism.

No wonder after he was declared the winner in the bout, he sarcastically commented that it was Egusi and Eba (the Nigerian’s native food) that made him to win the fight. What I’m trying bring out here is that he believe so much in his Nigerian’s blood and of course, the “can do spirit”, which eventually brought him out to limelight. 

Despite the negative and unrefined comments made against Nigerians in the International media, many Nigerians in Diaspora have made distinguished marks in all human endeavours. They are the most intelligent, educated, and ingenious people who carved out niche for themselves, where they find themselves.

 I must also add that they have this “can do spirit” with sheer dint of hardworking, which always bring them out to outstanding transformation and resounding success, just like what Anthony did to make his fatherland proud.

In the blog today, I’m basically going to discuss how the “can do spirit” if apply can spur you into action and help you to achieve your dreams and aspirations in life. The secret of great men lies in stories such as Anthony’s story.

The issue is about revealing the unchanging secret of great achievers in the world. The application of these stories put any one in the upper class. Men who have made outstanding impact in our world were ordinary men like you and I.

Where can you apply the “can do spirit” to achieve your success?

        Writing Career: 

    In the realm of writing, there is nobody that was born naturally a writer from birth.Those that choose the path of writing and becoming famous Writers were ordinary people before. They started by developing the writing skills through constant practice and practicing writing every day.

The “can do spirit” can move you into motion, if you are ready to start writing. Don’t doubt yourself. For a start, people may reject your write-ups and articles but let this not discourage you. Many Writers that you know were rejected many times. They didn’t give up. With every day’s practice and determination, they were able to succeed in that same field, that others failed and gave up on their writing preoccupation.

          Business and Investment: 

    It is a well-known fact that many people have beautiful business ideas and investment opportunities to invest their money, but they will refuse to tap into such ventures because of fear and uncertainty. Instead, they will develop cold feet and blow such golden opportunities away. An Entrepreneur requires efficiency, a knack for information, self-confidence, and negotiation ability for resources to succeed in business.

     Rather of thinking of the risk or failure in the business or investment opportunity, the “can do spirit” in you will open your eyes into rare opportunities to invest your money, where others are scare to invest. At the end, you will make money by recouping your investment and make a geometrical profit.

         Leadership Style

One of the banes of a modern society today is bad leadership. Having a bad leadership is liken to as a (cog in the wheel) in a National development and economic emancipation. It is always say that a good Leader will have good followers. In the other way round, a bad Leader will see himself surrounded by bad followers. 

In a situation a Leader lacks leadership qualities and managerial skills, the vision, blue-print and set goals of a Country, Community, or organization will not be achievable. It will be like a mirage. But a good visionary Leader will harness all the resources in his disposal to transform and brings about the desired result.

For example, the United of America will continue to remember the former President, Barrack Obama in the anal history of America. Notably, this was the man which many Americans didn’t like him when he vied for the President of USA. The reason for the hatred was based on his race- black origin.

However, despite the hatred for his colouration, he didn’t allow this to deter or derail him from his vision and plans he had for Americans. With his “can do spirit”, determination backed up with his change mantra, he was able to transform a badly bastardized American’s economy to a wealthy one, when the economy of USA was in comatose. This happened immediately, when he took over the mantle of leadership.

 He took the responsibility of fixing the problems faced by USA  without blaming the past Administration.His exemplary leadership style stood him out as one of the best Presidents of the United State of America and a powerful world Leader during his Administration.

4   Personal Development:

There is this quotable quote that says “Learn to work harder on yourself than on your job”. Since the day I saw this quote, I’ve been working on my personal development. I must say that the business of personal development lasts a lifetime.

Personal development has to do with adding value to your life. It should be noted that the more value you added to your life, the more money you will earn and you will have a financial freedom. To develop yourself, you need to engage yourself doing the following:

•  Reading motivational books.
•  Attending Seminars and symposiums.
•  Acquiring new skills.
•  Going for training and courses.
•   Carry out online researches.
•   Engaging in Information and Communication Technology.
•  Professional Examination.Writing.
•        And others

You must have o create time for our Personal development. Don’t say “if I have extra time, I would do it”, because there isn’t any more time.So if you can’t create more time, what could you create that would make the difference in the economic result? The answer is value.

         Invention and Technology

New scientific or technical ideas, and the means of its embodiment or accomplishment. To be palatable, an invention must be novel, have utility, and be non-obvious. To be called an invention, an idea only needs to be proven as workable. But to be called an innovation, it must also be replicate at an economical cost, and must satisfy a specific need. That's why only a few inventions lead to innovations because not all of them are economically feasible.

When it comes to the issue of invention, it is not always easy to break a new ground in inventing something. Records show that people are no longer thinking deeply like the old inventors. Great and rational thinkers took a great deal of time to carry out their research,and then followed by the experimentation. In this process of their expedients, they failed along the line sometimes, but they didn’t give up or abandoning such projects.

Take for example, when this popular soft drink-7up was produced, the producer of the soft drink failed woefully for six times. The company didn’t stop in trying to find how to perfect their experiment on the drink. It was the seventh time that they finally got what they wanted and they named the drink 7 up. This is a pointer that, the producer of the drink was resilience and determined to achieve that feat.

Many Scientists and other people with great dreams had abandoned their dreams that would have brought breakthroughs in the field of Technology. This could only happen if those with laudable dreams will take pains and time to carry out deep research, experimentation, and turn such dreams into tangible products.

From the analysis conducted, it shows that many supposed Inventors don’t want to waste their precious time in carry out detailed research that would have helped them in their invention. In this perspective, many problems of mankind are yet to be solved.

With a renewal of mindset and the “can do spirit”, many experiments abandoned if given more time for experimentation will witness a global transformation and recovery, with the help of Technology that  will  ease their  work.
