The Second Pillar Of B2B Writing Success

Image
Can you imagine how a marketing director of a business-to-business company is looking for a copywriter? The director has a project that would be perfect for you. In fact, he would hire you in a heartbeat. The only problem is …    … He doesn't know you exist.   And, it doesn't matter that you have a gorgeous website or that you blog like a maniac each week. He hasn't heard of you. So, he won't be calling you.   That's why the second pillar of B2B writing success is so important: Never stop prospecting.  Now when most writers think of prospecting, they conjure depressing images of making humiliating cold calls, or sending awkward emails to a list of strangers.   But prospecting really isn't like that.  Prospecting is simply introducing yourself and your services to companies that you suspect might have an interest in your services.   Think about that for a moment. You're not selling, you're introducing. A...

Reading But Writing makes A complete Man – The Ben Carson’s Success Story

Image
Hey, Have you heard of Dr. Ben Carson before? I guess some of you must have read some of his toughing and inspiring books. From a humble background, this prolific writer came into the limelight by brushing himself up through veracious reading, and he got seen in the literary world through his writings. In Carson’s Think Big: Unleashing Your Potential for Excellence , this gifted writer shared the story of how he transformed himself from the dumbest student in his fifth grade class into a Yale graduate and pediatric neurosurgeon, and mentioned some of the people who inspired him to achieve in his studies and in life generally. Notably, the deck was certainly stacked against him. He grew up in dire poverty, raised by a single mom in Detroit, Michigan. Success wasn’t even on the radar. Despite all this, he didn’t show any slightest sign of latitude towards the inexorable pressure of frenetic life. Image courtesy of Michael Vadon Ma...

Freelance Writing For Ad Agencies Can Make You Rich

Image
Graphic by freelancer.com   All businesses are in constant demand for marketing materials to increase traffic, boost profit, and raise their own awareness to the public. Although most businesses, large and small, have their own marketing departments, they still rely on ad agencies to assist with their marketing efforts, especially before and during busy seasons. Ad agencies hire freelance copywriters to work on marketing materials, such as writing brochures, direct mail, press releases, ads, sales letters, etc.; as opposed to writing strictly editorial content, such as feature articles and how-to articles for magazines. If you land a gig with an ad agency as a freelance copywriter, you can expect excellent pay and repeat work if you do a good job. Average hourly rates range between $25 and $45 per hour for a copywriter who has three or more years of experience; copywriters with a decade or more of experience can command $55 to $75 per hour (sometimes higher). The downsi...

WHEN YOU WRITE, YOU WILL GET SEEN ONLINE

Image
#Writer's life Recently, a friend of mine called to say he saw my blog and he liked the page. I was like wow. After our conversation, I thanked him for the compliments. What point am I trying to make here is that- it was through my blog that the guy got to see me, and hear my voice.   Gone are those days when writers were known ONLY through publication of their hard-copy books. Now, we are in the era of information technology. Everything goes online and the beauty of internet has revolutionized how information is well disseminated to the general public.   Through the help of this new technology, many writers including my humble self hitherto that was not known in the field of writing before, are now seen online through blog posting. Hence, this blog post emphasizes on...
