World’s Most Pierced Woman

I was just wondering what could have motivated this woman to pierce her body as shown in this picture. Is it all about being popular or making a fashion statement?
The former nurse from Brazil first broke the record in May 2000, when a Guinness World Records official examined her and found 462 piercings on various parts of her body, including 192 on her facial area alone. "People often just want to look at me or touch me - some even want to kiss me" Elaine says
 









 





Since first receiving a skin piercing in January 1997, Elaine Davidson (Brazil/UK) has been pierced a total of 4,225 times as of 8 June 2006. 

The former restaurant owner is constantly adding and replacing jewellery, mostly in her face. She enhances her exotic looks with tattoos and brightly coloured make-up, and often wears feathers and streamers in her hair.

 She has spent many years carrying out body piercing and tattooing. Indeed at this time she holds the Guinness book of World record for Piercings on herself (March 2012 she has 9,000 and counting!).

In addition to piercing, hair braiding and tattoo work, her shop which is located conveniently in the centre of Edinburgh, Scotland also supplies Aromatherapy products, Jewelry and specialized clothing.

She is available for guest appearances, photo shoots, TV shows, films, video production and more. Check out some of her photos in this gallery.
