How to Write a Blog Post People want to Read

Image
Admit it. Writing is hard. No.  To write a blog post that people want to read is hard!  I know because every post I write goes through a dozen edits before I either hit the publish button, submit to clients or send it in as a guest post . Even with the amount of time spent on polishing your post, it is becoming increasingly difficult to get people’s attention . If you want your audience to pay attention, you need to position your cards right. Here are four tips that I have cherry-picked to increase your chances of writing a post that people want to actually read. You should adhere to them if you really want to write a blog post people will read.  1. Craft Clickable Headlines You only have eight seconds to capture your audience interest. If your headline cannot arouse enough curiosity for people to click-through, there is no way that they are going to read your content. You should know that on the average, people read less than 50% of a post. The secret to get

BEST 10 TIPS TO CONSIDER FOR WRITING

  1. Don’t write linearly: Don’t set out to write something from beginning to end. A story is meant to be read from front to back, but not necessarily created that way. If you have an idea for writing the sixth chapter first, then start there. The epilogue can even be the first thing you put down on paper, then work your way back. Scattered chapters will eventually be filled in, and it will force you to look at the story from different angles, which may present different ideas or new approaches. You’d be surprised how well this works when a whole book starts coming together. It’s also great for getting around writer’s block. 2. Have two or more projects on the go: Speaking of writer’s block, having more than one project on the go is never a bad idea. Although focus and dedication are paramount to completing a work, sometimes you inevitably get stuck. It’s good to be able to move on to something else instead of feeling frustrated and stagnant. You don’t have to have a few b

I'm Richer Than Bill Gates - Pastor Adeboye

The 63th Annual Convention of The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG),    with the theme: “The All Sufficient God” started on 3 rd – 8 th of August, 2015. Ministering was the General Overseer Pastor E.A. Adeboye and other anointed men of God.   In one of his ministrations, apparently referring to his spiritual endowment, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, has said that he is richer than one of the world’s richest men, Bill Gates. Teaching the worshipers in the mission during the church’s 63rd Annual Convention on Saturday shortly before the Holy Communion Service on the topic; “Overflowing Cup,” Pastor Adeboye said that if Bill Gates needs shoes, he would have to go to the market to buy them, but that if he should announce that he needs shoes at the Redemption Camp, where the convention took place, the auditorium might not contain the shoes people would donate to him. “I have houses in at least 188 countries of the world, where we have our churches, so I am richer than B

Welcome back to Kufre Ekpo’s blog!   I'm hoping my blog post that I shared with   you last week have helped you   a bit to become a better, more successful writer. That excites me.   In the last post, I talked about four productivity strategies that have helped WRITERS to be successful and that have kept me (moderately) sane. My hope is that they'll do the same for you.   In today’s blog, I will be discussing on one person who has the greatest impact on your writing success, which is yourself. There is this popular quote that say - "The thing always happens that you really believe in; and the belief in a thing makes it happen." – Frank Lloyd Wright   It is against this philosophical dictum rightly put by Wright, lies in the fact that You are the sole engine of your writing success. You are the person who determines how far you'll go in this wonderful gig called freelancing. All your emotions come in

It's great to see you back here! This week, I've really enjoyed sharing with you three of the blog posts that centered on what writers should   DO to find success, what makes writers tough and better, and to cap it all, how to deal with challenges faced by writers.   I chose these posts because they cover what it takes for a writer  to accomplish his goals because, these resources  are needed and proven to be the most important secrets for writing success,   either in copywriting or freelancing writing. By doing so,  you're on your way to a successful writing career.   Today I'm going to shift gears. There are two core secrets to success in any career, but they're crucial in writing. First: continuously improve your skills. Second: Improve your productivity, so you get more work done and earn more money.   Simply put, the better your productivity – the faster you get high-quality copy to clients – the faster you'll achieve success.

What Makes Writer Tough And Better: 5 TipsTo Be Considered

#Writer's Life “ By making writing a part of your daily routine – just like brushing your teeth; you’ll discipline yourself to work as a writer instead of a hobbyist, who only writes when there’s fun to be had”. – Theresa Grant. From the Grant’s quote above, one can conclude that writing is not easy, but needs hard work. As a professional freelance writer, I’m very familiar with how challenging writing can be. Most people don’t look forward to writing beyond Twitter or Facebook posts. Writing is a task and a job that many people put off doing until the last minute, or they hire freelancer to do it. So why is writing so hard? Often times, the most damaging thought I’ve heard from the confessors and other writers saying again and again is that, writing should be a “fun” or “leisurely” activity. Pop culture reinforces this by perpetuating the image of the writer as a mega-talented, but lazy and self-indulgent buffoon (think Hank Moody). Basking on the perception that wr
