How social media can increase your company’s value

Some companies don’t think social media matters. They think their company can’t benefit from it, nobody is going to read their posts, or that it’s a waste of time.
But those companies are wrong. There are many ways that having an active social media presence can benefit your company. Here are some examples.
It can raise brand awareness
You can use hashtags on photos on Instagram or posts on Twitter to get your content in front of potential followers. Folks who search for content with those specific hashtags will see your post. Social media can also make your brand seem more favorable. By adding a voice to your company, you are personalizing your brand. Potential customers will be more likely to follow or utilize your services.
You can grow your sales
Recently, Facebook is scaling back on the amount of followers who will see your posts, but you can alleviate this and gain more visibility by using paid advertising. However, even without the use of paid ads, social media is becoming a great way for companies to promote sales, specials, events, or product launches. With just a few words you can potentially reach thousands of people who are interested in your product. Those people may “like” your content or share it with their friends, thus increasing their visibility.
Improve customer service
Having an active online presence shows your customers that you are available and dedicated to their needs. If a customer leaves a comment on your page, you will see it right away and can respond in a timely manner. Most times this is much faster and more effective than email, because it is also being shown to the public, and you do not want your company to look bad do you?
Update your followers on events, changes, or successes
What’s better than getting on Facebook in front of 5,000 followers and announcing that you have just completed a big merge, or that you have just reached your quarterly sales goal several weeks early? Don’t be afraid to brag about your successes. Showing that your company is doing great things is likely to have a positive effect on your customers by showing them they have invested their time in the right company. Don’t go overboard though. Nobody likes a showboat. Create engaging posts that encourage your followers to chime in and share a success story of their own!
The potential for a sale
If you plan on selling your company in the near future, make sure you have all of your ducks in a row. This includes social media. No investor will want to invest into a company that is only half established. It will be much more appealing to potential investors, if you have many followers who enjoy your content, and are engaging with you on a daily basis. Back to tip #1- this makes your company more desirable.
